Georgian New Year's Eve celebration in Athens with PayLink - Western Union

Apart from the low prices for sending money to Georgia, we support activities and cultural events taking place in Greece, in cooperation with Georgian associations and organizations.

On January 14^th 2024, we were privileged to sponsor a remarkable New Year’s Eve celebration with the Georgian community in Greece through a dazzling concert, organized by the Cultural Center “The Caucasus“, with the generous support of georgians.gr and the Greek Forum of Migrants. Georgian pop stars Dodona, Barbara Samkharadze and Ani Uznadze arrived in Athens just for the concert.

Before the start of the concert

As the concert was slated for 4:30 PM, attendees from across Athens began streaming into the Studio New Star Art Cinema as early as 3:00 PM. Before the start of the concert, the attendees in the foyer had the opportunity to be informed by our staff about the new low fees of PayLink – Western Union for sending money to Georgia, as well as well as the new KEP service that operates at our branch at 44 Menandrou Street in the heart of Athens. At this branch, you can receive assistance in the Georgian language for all private KEP services.

The concert

The concert commenced with opening remarks from Avtandil Mikaberice, the president of the cultural center, who expressed gratitude to the audience, participants, and sponsors. Subsequently, an emotional moment unfolded as everyone rose to their feet, placing their hands over their hearts, to collectively sing the national anthem of Georgia.

The audience erupted into their most enthusiastic applause as Georgian pop stars Dodona, Barbara Samkharadze, and Ani Uznadze, alongside the musical ensemble Caucasus, led us on a captivating musical voyage through the heart of Georgia. In a harmonious union, both audience and performers united in song, resonating with the melodies of traditional Georgian tunes, enveloping the hall with a blend of joy, nostalgia, and heartfelt emotion.
